ABOUT
Melbourne artist Lynelle Madison creates deeply reflective, dreamlike abstracts in mixed media.
Originally residing in Canada, Lynelle operated her own private design business, after completing a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Interior Design, and spent many years styling homes across the Toronto area. This eventually led to her becoming an onscreen designer for four seasons on the Canadian television series The Decorating Challenge. Consulting with clients on screen, as well as fans of the series on stage, she provided insight into contemporary interior design trends and colour psychology, and advised on ways to effectively integrate these elements into the modern home. Following her tenure on the show, she wrote the Ask a Designer article series for both the Canadian Calgary Herald and Toronto Centre of the City Magazine, advising readers on interior styling, features and art .
After relocating to Australia in, Lynelle developed an interest in photography and, at the conclusion of her training, worked as a professional photographer across Australia, Europe and Canada. During this time period she became increasingly fascinated by photographic art, which ultimately transitioned her into the realm of abstract artwork. This art form has been her primary, full-time practice since 2015 and Lynelle’s persistent commitment to pushing her creative realms and possibilities greatly informs the work she produces. She now successfully creates her pieces between her two private art studios, situated in Bayside and Kingston, Victoria.
